This iteration of our Grant Park Souris made with strawberries and carubain a ratio of 2 to 1, respectively. What the heck is a caruba? Good question. Caruba is a fruit native to Columbia and other parts of South America. Caruba is also known as banana passionfruit, as it is a part of the passionfruit family and the fruits are oblong and yellow like a banana. Caruba does not actually taste like banana; rather it tastes like a mix between passionfruit and peaches. On the nose of this GPS variant, you get a blast of strawberry followed by tropical undertones. The beer is distinctly tart with a pleasing acidic tingle on the sides of the tongue. The flavor is strawberry heavy and has been described as “like a fruit roll-up.” You can really taste the caruba on the aftertaste and it is distinctly tropical and enticing.
